Checked in a G-Drive 4TB External Hard Drive for Data Recovery. The drive dropped and now is making a clicking sound.

Initial Diagnosis:

We opened your drive cover in our Clean Room and the issue with the drive was stiction. We were able to safely remove the stuck heads from the platters and inspected them under the microscope.

Data Recovery Update:

We recommend the customer do a head swap for maximum recovery. The head swap went very well :). The new heads are a great match and the media damage on the drive is not horrible to prevent complete access to the data.

Clean Room Data Recovery Cost:

Our fee for Clean Room Recoveries is flat rate $950.00. We discounted this job since the customer is a student and also we had the donor drive in stock.
